One of the most classic looks that I absolutely love, which also happens to be perennially in style is a classic blazer.  It is so easy to dress up, dress down, and can go just about anywhere.

There are a few ways to pep up this look if you are feeling a little too classic.  The first way is to do what Fergie does–choose a blazer that is not just plain black.  You can choose a dressy blazer that has an interesting fabric (color, design, type of fabric), one that has interesting design details, or has added interest (brooches, pins, ribbons).  The other ways to pep up a blazer are with accessories.  My I really like what Fergie did to jazz up her outfit, but I would actually pair it with this season’s most stylish over the shoulder tiny bag.  This type of bag looks really right to me.  It looks like it belongs with a blazer.  So go ahead and pair your blazer with a smallish replica Hermes handbag.
